MotilityAnywhere offers the ability to edit existing reports in the program and save them as new, custom reports.
Change Column Detail Information
Open Report Designer
- Open the reporting module.
- Locate the report you wish to edit from the report menu tree on the left.
- Choose the pencil icon at the top of the screen. This will open the report designer in a new tab, showing the report you chose in step 2.
Add a Column
- Click over a column header cell in the page's Group Header section.
- If the menu on the right is not open, select the gear icon in the upper right.
- Under the Actions section, choose the button to Insert Column to the right (or left) of the selected column.
- If you want specific data to show under the header, you will need to insert a column for that information in the Design section.
Add Column Heading Text
- Double-click in the cell.
- Enter a name for the new header by typing it into the cell.
Add Column Detail Information
- Click in the new data field to highlight.
- Select the Database symbol from the menu on the right side of the page.
- Expand the SqlDataSource section by clicking over it in the list.
- Expand the subsections by clicking over it in the list.
- Click and drag the name of the data you wish to insert to the cell you highlighted. This will add the selected data to the cell.
Edit a Column
Change Column Heading Text
- Click in the heading field to highlight.
- If the menu on the right is not open, select the gear icon in the upper right.
- Click to expand the Appearance section.
- Choose background color, border color, font or font color for the cell.
Change Column Detail Information
- Click in the data field to highlight.
- Select the Database symbol from the menu on the right side of the page.
- Expand the SqlDataSource section by clicking over it in the list.
- Expand the subsections by clicking over it in the list.
- Click and drag the name of the data you wish to insert to the cell you highlighted. This will add the selected data to the cell and remove the old data.
Delete a Column
- Click over the field you wish to remove. If you will be removing multiple fields, like a header and data fields, hold the control (CTRL) button while clicking over each field. This will allow you to highlight multiple fields at once.
- You can select the delete (DEL) button on your keyboard to immediately remove the cells from the report.
Save the Report
- Save the report by selecting the button with three lines on the left side of the screen to open the menu. Choose the Save As option. This will open the save report popup window.
- Enter the new report name. Instead of spaces, we recommend to use underscores in the name.
- Click the Save button in the lower right of the popup window.
The new custom report will be shown at the bottom of the report menu tree under the Custom Reports section..
