Sometimes, a dealership's barcode scanners use a different encoding that the default set for barcode labels. For example, if your dealership uses alphanumeric part numbers (containing both letters and numbers), you may need to change the encoding to Code 128.
- Open the Reporting module.
- From the menu on the left side of the screen, click over the barcode label report you wish to edit.
- Click the edit pencil at the top of the report page to open the editor.
- Click over the barcode.
- In the properties window on the right, click to expand the Symbology section.
- Choose the encoding. The option that you choose will depend on the barcode scanner that the dealership uses and the part numbers.

- Once you have selected the barcode format, click the Preview button in the upper right. This will open a print preview.
- Print a single page of barcodes onto normal paper.
- Verify that the barcodes scan as expected.
- Close the preview and return to the editor.
- Click the menu button in the upper left of the report window.
- Choose the Save As Custom Default option from the menu. This will save the new format as the default from this point forward.
- Click the menu button in the upper left of the report window.
- Choose the Exit option from the menu to close the editor.
- Refresh the reports window.
