Parts kits are used to package several parts together. This can help speed entry on a parts invoice or repair order by adding multiple parts at once.
Create Parts Kit
- Open the Parts and Service module.
- From the menu on the left side of the screen, expand the Parts Maintenance section.
- Choose the Add / Modify Parts Kit option. This will open the parts kit search window.
- To view existing kits, select the Find button to show all kits.
- Click the New Parts Kit button in the lower right. This will open a screen that looks similar to a parts invoice.
- Enter a Description of this kit, which will act like the “part number”.
- Add each part that will be included in this kit.
- Click the Save button in the lower right when done.
Set Standard Part Price
If you wish to manually set a parts price in a Kit so that it does not calculate each time a Kit is added you must key the price directly into the “Calc” field. For example if you’d like to set an item to retail for $3.00 in a kit. Then type 3.00 into the “Calc” field on that part. Be warned that if you manually set the price in the “Calc” field, if the cost of the part goes up to $4.00 the parts kit will still show a retail price of $3.00 unless you manually update the kit.
Add Parts Kit to Invoice
- Open the Parts & Service module.
- Open a parts invoice or a service repair order.
- Select the Parts Kit button below the parts table. This will open the parts kit search window.
- To view all kits, select the Find button. You may type in either a whole or partial description to show kits containing specific words.
- Click over the kit's row to highlight.
- Click the OK button in the lower right. This will close the window and add all parts in the kit to the invoice.
Update Part Kit Pricing
If your parts prices have changed, you may need to update the pricing on parts kits and canned jobs.
- Open the Parts & Service module.
- Choose the Recalculate Canned Jobs / Parts Kits option from the service maintenance section of the tools menu on the left side of the screen. This will open the recalculating popup window.
- Click the Recalculate button to begin updating.
- Choose the Close button in the lower right of the window.
