Warranty companies are entered in Infinity for selection on warranty products. You can create warranty companies from either the Parts & Service or the CRM module. We recommend entering them from the Parts & Services module.

Add a Warranty Company From Parts & Service
- Open the Parts & Service Module.
- Choose Edit from the menu bar in the top left of the screen.
- Hover over the Modify option to open the submenu.
- Hover over the Sources option to open the submenu.
- Select the Warranty sources option. This will open the Parts Warranty Customers Information window.
Note: You must have permission to access this screen. If you do not have access, please contact your manager to request a permission change.
- Click the yellow plus sign at the top of the window. This will add a new blank warranty company.
- Under Comp. Name: enter in the name of the Warranty Company.
- If the dealership is a multi-location dealership, entering a the warranty company for a specific location is done using the drop down menu under Dealer Location.
- The Primary tab is where you will enter in the company’s contact information.
- The Warranty section is where you can enter the Labor Rate Override, Parts Price Category, GL Account for Warranty Payable, and the GL Account for the Warranty Receivable.
- To mark if the parts and/or labor is tax exempt, check the appropriate check box next to Parts Sales Tax Exempt and Labor Sales Tax Exempt. (GST is for Canadian tax exemptions)
- Click Apply to update the company.
- Click OK to close the window.
Add Warranty Company in CRM
Open the CRM module.
Search for and open the entity's profile.
At the top:
- Ensure that the Company box is checked.
On the Lead Info tab:
- Show as Prospect (in the lower left) should be selected.
For suppliers, banks, and floorplan companies, you will need to use the AP Info tab:
- Enter the applicable GL accounts and other information for the business.
- In the lower right of the tab, check the box for “Supplier”.
For warranty companies, you will need to use the AR Info tab:
- Enter business information.
- Check the Warranty Company box.
Save the profile when you have finished.
Search for a Warranty Company
- Open the Parts & Service Module.
- Choose Edit from the menu bar in the top left of the screen.
- Hover over the Modify option to open the submenu.
- Hover over the Sources option to open the submenu.
- Select the Warranty sources option. This will open the Parts Warranty Customers Information window.
- At the top of this screen, click on the magnifying glass icon to open the ‘Search for Warranty Companies’.
- Enter the warranty company's name. If you only know part of the name of the company, you can use the * key. This is the wild card key, used to substitute any other character(s) in a string.
