Rental fees are used in new rental agreements in the rental module. Fees that are set up here can be set to automatically add to rentals with a dollar amount or calculate a percentage.
- From any module in MotilityAnywhere, select the user icon in the upper right of the screen to open the menu.
- Choose the Settings option from the menu. This will open a screen where, depending on your security permissions, you may view or update company settings.
- Select the App Settings tab.
- Click the Rental section from the subtabs to the left side of the screen.
- Click over the Rental Fee Setup section to expand.
- To add a new fee, select the Add New Record button to the upper right of the table. This will add a new, blank line to the list. To edit a status, scroll to the right and select the Edit button to unlock the row.
- Enter a Name for the fee. This
- Enter a Description of the fee. This
- Optionally, if this fee will be payable to an outside company (like smoke remediation, etc.), you can add the Default Entity by either entering the entity number or clicking the ellipsis button to search for the entity.
- Select the Calculation Type for the fee or charge. Options include:
- Per Rental
- Hourly
- Daily
- Weekly
- Monthly
- Yearly
- Per Rental Plus Mileage
- Optionally, you may set a Default Amount (price for the customer) for the fee.
- Optionally, you may set a Default Cost (what it costs the dealership) for the fee.
- Optionally, you may check the Charge by Default box to have this fee automatically be added to new rental agreements.
- Select the Charge Type from the dropdown. Options include:
- Amount (in dollars)
- Percentage on Rental
- Percentage on Total
- Per Gallon Difference
- Per Hour Difference
- Select the Type of fee or charge from the dropdown. Options include:
- Fee
- Charge
- Insurance
- Return Charge
- Misc. Tax
- Discount
- Check the Taxable box if the fee will be taxable. Leave unchecked if the fee will be non-taxable.
- Optionally, if this fee will only apply to a single profit center or location, select it from the PC dropdown.
- Optionally, you may choose a default Department for the fee to show under in accounting.
- If this fee must be on rental agreements, check the Required box.
- If you want this fee to show when searching fees, check the Is Searchable box.
- When you are done adding or editing the fee, click the Update button on the row.
