Cash drawers are used to separate where money is taken at your business. You can create several cash drawers here, then assign them to employees who will use a specific drawer for easier tracking.
Assign Cash Drawer to Employee
Create Cash Drawers
- From any module, click over the icon of a person in the upper right of the screen.
- Choose the Settings option from the menu. This will open a screen where you can apply settings at different levels.
- Select the App Settings tab.
- Click the Parts & Service subtab on the left side of the screen.
- Choose the Cash Drawers Pick List option. This will expand the section.
- Click the button to Add New Record. This will add a new, blank line to the table.
- Enter a description for the cash drawer.
- Select the Update button on the row.
Assign Cash Drawer to Employee
Once your cash drawers are created, you may want to assign the drawers to specific employees. You can assign more than one employee to the drawer, which will allow the employees to share a drawer.
- From any module, click over the icon of a person in the upper right of the screen.
- Choose the Settings option from the menu. This will open a screen where you can apply settings at different levels.
- Select the Security Management tab. This will show a list of employees. You can view assigned cash drawers in this list.
- Double-click over the employee name in the list to open the user properties window.
- Choose the drawer from the Cash Drawer Number dropdown that you wish to assign to the employee.
- Click the Save button in the lower right.
- Exit the user properties window by clicking the X in the upper right. This will return you to the security users list.
