- The dealership may need to contact their local tech for assistance with any of these steps.
- The local tech will need to confirm that their firewall can do the following:
- Port Forwarding
- Be able to limit traffic from a particular IP address. (Azure Server)
- Open a port on the firewall and limit the traffic from a particular IP address
- Using NAT translation, convert the incoming traffic to port 6000 and forward all that traffic to the internal IP address of the credit card machine.
Example: External IP Address – 123.123.123.123 Traffic coming in on port - 54321 Translated to port – 6000 Forward to CC IP address – 254.254.254.254 |
- The external port that is opened will need to be used to configure within the software.
- For multiple credit card machines, each one will need to have a unique external port opened but, it will still need to be forwarded to port 6000 towards each credit card machine.
- In the Software, you will need to go to the App Settings, choose the parts and service subtab, and open the Add/Modify Credit Card Machines section.
- You will need to create a name of the device, then tell the software the external IP address of your location and port number.
In this example the device is ma-link2500, the external IP address of the location, and the port number the IT tech assigned for that device through the firewall.
- When cashing out the ticket, you will need to pick the credit card terminal that you want the signal to go to, so you will pick MA-link2500
