MotilityAnywhere locks records that are in use by dealership staff. This allows you to make changes without anyone else making changes at the same time. Sometimes, this can cause a record to remain locked if there is an internet issue or another interruption. If you or any other user encounter a document that is locked, you will get a notice similar to the example below:
IMPORTANT: Before following these steps, make sure that the user listed in your alert is not actually in the document. If they are accessing the document and you unlock the record, you will experience errors. |
- From any module, click the user icon in the upper right of the screen. This will open a menu.
- Choose the Unlock Tool option. This will open the Unlock Tool window.
- The different tabs at the top of the window display the different record types that may be locked. Any record type with a locked record will show the number of locked records on the tab. Click the tab for the record you wish to unlock. This will show the locked records in a list below.
- Optionally, you may select the Export to Excel button if you wish to retain this list.
- Click the Unlock button for each record you wish to unlock.
- Choose the Close button in the lower right to exit the window.
