Before a deposit can be taken a deal number must be assigned. Deposits can’t be taken on quotes, so converting your quote to a deal needs to be done before taking a deposit.
Add Deposit to a Deal
- Open the Deal Desking module.
- Locate your deal in the list, then double-click over the row to open the deal window.
- Click the Edit button in the lower right of the window to edit the deal.
- Click the Quote tab.
There are two places where you can add a new deposit.
- Click the Add button in the deposits field within the collateral section. Alternatively, you can scroll down the window to the Deposits tab shown on the left side, then click the Add New Deposit button at the top of the tab. Either of these options will add a new line to the deposits table.
- Type in the deposit amount in the Amount column.
- Click the Save button at the bottom of the deal window.
Cash Out Deposit
- Click the Cash Out button to the right on the same line as the deposit. This will allow you to take the deposit payment.
- If your business uses a centralized cashier, select the Send to Cashier button to send the deposit information to the cashier. This will show in the deposits list.
- Select OK on the Save confirmation.
Refund a Deal Deposit
- Open the Deal Desking module.
- Locate your deal in the list, then double-click over the row to open the deal window.
- Click the Edit button in the lower right of the window to edit the deal.
- Click the Quote tab.
- Scroll down the window until you can click the Deposits tab on the left side.
- Click the Add New Deposit button at the top of the tab.
- Type in the deposit amount in the Amount column with a minus sign in front, like -500.00.
- Click the Cash Out button to the right on the same line as the negative deposit. This will allow you to refund the deposit payment in the sales register.
- If your business uses a centralized cashier, select the Send to Cashier button to send the deposit refund information to the cashier.
