Copying an existing unit can help shorten the time it takes to add a new unit, especially when there are a lot of accessories that need to be added to the unit. You can copy from a template, copy from any existing unit, or copy from a sold unit.
Copy From
- Open the Unit Inventory module.
- Select the Copy From button at the bottom of the screen or from under the File menu in the upper left. This will open an inventory search window.
- Enter part or the entire stock number you wish to copy.
- Click the Search button. This will update the table below to show matching units.
- Click over the row of the unit you want to copy to highlight it.
- Select the OK button in the lower right of the window. This will close the search window and open the new unit, copying information from the unit you selected.
- Make any changes in the unit profile that you need, then choose the Save button at the bottom of the screen.
Multi Unit Copy
- Open the Unit Inventory module.
- Select the File menu in the upper left of the screen.
- Choose the Multi Unit Copy option.
- This will open an inventory search window.
- Enter part or the entire stock number you wish to copy.
- Click the Search button. This will update the table below to show matching units.
- Click over the row of the unit you want to copy to highlight it.
- Select the OK button in the lower right of the window. This will close the search window and open the Multi Unit Copy window.
- You can enter the stock number for the new unit into the blank gray row or click Auto Assign Stock Number button in the lower left of the window.
- Add the VIN(s) and the exterior and interior colors, if you have that information.
- Add another unit by selecting the blank gray row.
- Once all the units have been set up in this list, click the OK button.
