Deal statuses are used to track a deal's progress through your dealership's steps to close sales. Deal statuses can also update other statuses, like the unit, trade units, and entities entered on the deal.
-
Open the Deal Desking module from the navigation menu on the left side of the screen.
-
Click Edit on the menu bar, then hover over Modify. This will expand a menu of different options.
- Choose the Add/Modify Status option. This will open a new window.
- To add a new status, select the Add External Status button in the lower left of the window. This will add a new, blank line to the list.
- Enter a description for the status. This is what will show in the list of statuses on an individual deal.
- To change the color for the status, click over the choose color picker. This will open a color selection window.
- Select the desired color.
- Choose the internal status for the status you are creating. The options available are Open, Done, and Cancelled.
-
- Open is used when the deal is still in progress.
- Done is used when the deal is complete and washed out.
- Optionally, you may choose a position for the status. This sets the order of the statuses in the list. The lower the number, the higher on the list that this status will show. If all statuses are set with the same position, they will show in alphabetical order in the list.
- Deal statuses can automatically affect the status for the unit(s) included on the deal. Select the status that you want the unit to be set to when this deal status is selected.
- Deal statuses can automatically affect the status for the trade unit(s) included on the deal. Select the status that you want the trade to be set to when this deal status is selected. This is most-commonly used for statuses with the internal status of Closed.
- Deal statuses can automatically affect the status for the entity or entities included on the deal. Select the status that you want the buyer (and co-buyer) to be set to when this deal status is selected.
- If units are removed from a deal with this specific status applied, you can have a new status set automatically to the removed unit(s) by selecting it from the Unit Removed Status dropdown.
- If an entity or entities are removed from a deal with this specific status applied, you can have a new status set automatically to the removed entity or entities by selecting it from the Entity Removed Status dropdown.
- If you want this status to create an appointment on the delivery calendar, check the box in the Delivery Calendar column.
IMPORTANT: You will need to make sure that the delivery date and time are entered on the specific deal before updating the status to have the appointment generate the correct date/time.
- Select the OK button in the lower right to save your changes.
